The long awaited Fellowship Dinner at Rocky’s attracted many Friends of Rotary, and many others who were not, but wanted to join in.
GM Martin Fells generously gave us an extra 10 places over the previous event, and 75 guests were finally booked.
Like a well-oiled machine, guests arrived and filled up the weather station car park, before being transported by buggy to ‘The Dining Room’ for Registration.
They were greeted with an array of raffle prizes to tempt them to open their wallets!
As well as the customary dinner voucher, Rocky’s put in a quality sparkling wine.
There was a voucher from Hemingway’s in honour of their 1st Birthday, and being awarded ‘top Thai Restaurant’ by Trip Advisor.
There was a voucher from Squire’s Loft, a hand drawn sketch by a Burmese artist and the customary bottles offered by Rotary.
After enjoying their welcome cocktail out by the Beach Bar, guests made their way to their tables in anticipation of the gourmet delights of a Rocky’s meal.
They were not disappointed! Each of the wonderful 5 courses was savoured in leisurely fashion, with Rocky’s staff doing a great job of keeping wine and beers flowing.
Finally after a decidedly sinful dessert, it was time to rest and listen to President Warunee as she thanked Rocky’s and their staff.
She then invited a visiting Rotarian from Nelsprut, South Africa to join her, and presented him with a ROCKS banner.
But at last it was time for the long awaited raffle, and the lucky winners happily carried off their prizes, with Martin Fells stepping up to present the two Rocky’s prizes.
